Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He blends soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct blend. Avery Sunshine's work has led her all over the world, from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician, singing and playing in the local church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her musical apprenticeship within the city's R&B scene. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during President Obama's 2008 inauguration.
