Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is the President and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and grew up part of a rich family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. In 1972, her parents broke up up and she felt emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she became the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. Later, she established an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. In the beginning, she was vice-president for the Lakers before taking on the role of President of Great Western Forum. Her father passed away in 2013, and the control for the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family that gave each sibling equal voting rights. The Lakers named her president. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss was also a part-owner of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling organization).
